I've been on an old Formula One kick recently and I don't own any interactive media to scratch my itch. I'm considering F1 2013 Classic Edition and I'm curious to hear what you guys might have to say about it.

I played F12012 and loved it.
Good game, you can do a seasonal play or whatever.

I have F1 2011, never actually got into it.

I have F1 2012. I like it, but I hate when I'm racing, and 14 out of 15 laps in, I'm in the back (because I'm horribad, and on Caterham), and suddenly, Maldonado inevitably rams into me (doesn't even matter what track, I know it's going to happen).

I have f1 2012 on Xbox and it is fantastic

I have 2012 and it's awesome. It's more difficult than say forza but the rules are more realistic, the ai are more realistic and it's really fun

F1 2013 is great with a driving wheel like a G27. I sometimes spend hours trying to put in a faster lap in time trial. When I didn't have a racing wheel, I lost interest pretty quickly.

rFactor with old F1 mods.
Assetto Corsa has Lotus 49.
Project CARS has older Lotus cars.

Oh man, I covet rFactor for its flexibility and community. If I didn't have a 7 year old MacBook, my ownership of rFactor and pretty much every other race sim would be a foregone conclusion.
I can't bring myself to get another computer, though. Even though this is a little old, I've taken very good care of it and it still works fine enough.

Unless you had a son and a French electronic duo to help pull you back out, I should hope not.

Good news. Do you use a wheel?

Very neat. After suffering FM4 and GT6's truncated career races, I'm itching for scalable race lengths.

Cool, man. Give me challenge, structure and a full grid.

Maldo: I hope senpai notices me!

Ooh, I would so badly like a wheel. I feel like I have the requisite infrastructure, but I really don't want a big fake wheel sitting around when I'm not using it.
How does the game handle with a controller compared to a wheel?

Yeah storage is a bit of a pain. I'm trying to build a stand for it that will also make storage a little bit easier.
It just doesn't feel as natural with a controller. Like you have to make multiple steering inputs rather than fluid ones. Plus its really hard to use manual shifting with a controller. Throttle control isn't as accurate. You're much more likely to need things like ABS and TCS, with a controller, whereas they aren't necessary with a wheel

No but I wish I had one

I'd go for it. I might get it as well. If you have an Xbox 360 and if they have available online racing is be down for some f1 if I get the game this weekend

I had the 2013 with all classic contents.
And it's sort of game that you keep crashing your car every single race for a week if you don't have a wheel or joystick.

Yeah, that's my main concern.
I'd really like to drive some of those old F1 cars, but I don't want to have to shell out for a wheel to enjoy it properly.
To be honest, right now I'm waiting to see if GT6 will really have some Senna DLC. I know there's a short flash of a Lotus 97T in the opening movie. It may not have the physics or sound, but if I can enjoy an old F1 car like that without needing a wheel, I'd be happy.
